Having served Downtown as Ward 13’s councilman for a decade, I am constantly amazed at all that has evolved to make downtown a great neighborhood, a neighborhood where people live, work, visit and play.
The collaboration between Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Cleveland City Council, Downtown Cleveland Alliance, the Historic Warehouse District and Historic Gateway Neighborhood, Flats Oxbow, Playhouse Square and The Quadrangle, along with residents and other community members, has made Downtown fantastic.
The Euclid Corridor is an important link between two of Cleveland’s most vibrant areas: Downtown and University Circle. The soon-to-be completed Healthline will provide a state-of-the-art journey from Public Square to University Circle with stops inbetween.
The Downtown Cleveland Alliance’s Clean and Safe Program staffs Downtown for 18 hours a day with ambassadors who beautify Downtown spaces and contribute to the safety of residents and visitors. The ambassadors create a cleaner, safer and better environment for everyone downtown. They also can provide information about all aspects of Downtown.
I would like to thank all of the residents who form the core of this community and whose actions — living, working and playing in Downtown — continue to revitalize the area. If you don’t frequent Downtown, come and experience the vitality, diversity and uniqueness that only awesome Downtown Cleveland can offer. You really should.
