75th Annual One World Day at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens
Humankind is a mosaic that transcends cultures while simultaneously relying on them for composition. Since 1946, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation has sought after peace through mutual understanding, honoring Cleveland’s diverse makeup through its more than 30 cultural gardens on One World Day. This year will include a Parade of Flags, spotlighting multiple nationalities. At 11 a.m., the Naturalization Ceremony will mark the end of a long journey for 25 new American citizens. Arts in August at Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park sits in the center of Tremont. It’s 8-acre sprawl of green is adorned with a white, green-topped gazebo, with nearby shops and restaurants turning the area into the perfect spot for a low-key staycation, especially during Arts for August. The final weekend of the monthlong festival entails the Erie Heights Brass Band Ensemble on Friday, the lively, dance-begging sounds of Papo Ruiz Y La Dulzura De La Salsa on Saturday and both Amici and Cavani String Quartets in partnership with Arts Renaissance Tremont on Sunday. Cleveland Pickle Fest at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School
For anyone who likes a cucumber gone awry, this is the place to be. The 3rd Annual Cleveland Pickle Fest celebrates all things fermented. It starts with a 5K run and 1 mile walk that features a performance from local musician Don Lloyd. A community bike ride follows along with a performance by Cleveland-based band Monica Robins and the Whiskey Kings. Vendors like Bold Pickins, Celestial Treats CLE and Happy Pickler will be on the grounds. A pickle-eating contest will ensue for indulgence in that sweet, pickley crunch. Jurassic Jungle Live in Market Square at Crocker Park
Once rulers of the earth, dinosaurs will be making a comeback in Westlake this weekend, when a group of enthusiastic dinosaur conservationists visit with over a dozen different species in the hopes of thrilling and educating. Dinosaurs will be brought onto the stage to demonstrate their habits, traits and interact with the audience.
