Cosm, Bedrock, and Rock Entertainment Group (REG) announced today that Cosm, a leading immersive technology, media and entertainment company, will anchor Bedrock’s mixed-use Rock Block development in Downtown Cleveland’s Gateway District. NEOtrans was first to report on this pending development three weeks ago when site-preparation plans were submitted to the city.
The Cosm site is located on 3 acres of land Bedrock acquired in 2023 at the intersection of East 4th Street, Prospect Avenue and Huron Road. There, by mid-2027, Cosm Cleveland is due to join a number of entertainment, sports, retail, and dining amenities in downtown’s Gateway District, headlined by the Rock Entertainment Group-operated Rocket Arena.
Bedrock’s Rock Block is also set to offer a range of retail, hospitality and parking options to amplify and support the momentum of Cleveland’s urban core. Cosm is the Rock Block’s first phase. A follow-on vertical development including residential uses is reported by sources familiar with the project but spoke to NEOtrans on the condition of anonymity.
“Cleveland has long been recognized as a premier entertainment and sport town with one of the most dedicated fan bases in the country, making it the ideal location for Cosm,” said Nic Barlage, CEO of Rock Entertainment Group in a written statement.
“This groundbreaking, innovative technology represents the future of live sports and attractions — and Rock Block, next to Rocket Arena, will be the go-to destination for visitors from the region and beyond to experience it,” Barlage added.

Through Shared Reality, Cosm connects people and brings them together by merging a stadium-like atmosphere with the energy of the crowd, elevated food and beverage options, and state-of-the-art visuals.
“This is a major milestone for our downtown Gateway District, and the arrival of Cosm is a testament to our community’s spirit and resilience,” added Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb. “This incredible venue will enhance our city’s reputation as a hub for sports and entertainment, drawing visitors from near and far to experience a whole new level of immersive entertainment.”
Planned for a couple of years, the venue also promises to add to the menu of smaller but more frequent downtown sporting events like the new WNBA franchise, relocated shows and conventions from the IX Center, and other attractions. Altogether, they could help soften the blow of the Cleveland Browns and two to three shows per year leaving the downtown lakefront stadium for a new enclosed facility in suburban Brook Park.
“With its engaging technology and diverse programming, Cosm will not only elevate the visitor experience but also strengthen our local economy and community connections,” Bibb added. “We are proud to partner with Bedrock on this transformative project that reflects the vibrancy and passion of Cleveland.”
Cleveland will be home to Cosm’s fifth venue. The company last year announced a fourth location in Detroit, which broke ground on Bedrock’s Development at Cadillac Square in April 2025. Cosm has also opened two venues – Los Angeles at Hollywood Park and Dallas at Grandscape. It recently began the development of its third venue in Atlanta at Centennial Yards.

“We’re proud to bring Cosm to a city with such a strong sense of identity and passion,” said Cosm President and CEO Jeb Terry. “This venue will be more than just a destination. It will be a new way for Clevelanders to come together and experience the moments that matter most, in Shared Reality.”
Cosm last year attracted $250 million in investment from billionaires Dan Gilbert and David Blitzer. Gilbert is owner of Rock Entertainment, Bedrock, the Cleveland Cavaliers and more. Blitzer is a minority owner of the Cleveland Guardians and has an option to acquire Paul Dolan’s majority ownership of the baseball team by 2028.
“Located immediately across from Rocket Arena, Cosm Cleveland will add to the energy of game day and big events, and activate Bedrock’s Rock Block development with live sports, experiential cinema and entertainment, and cultural offerings year-round,” Terry said.
Work will get underway in the coming weeks to prepare the site. General contractor Whiting-Turner of Baltimore will dig a 1-acre-sized pit 15 feet deep, north of Huron and east of East 4th. Then it will fill the pit with 7 feet of stone gravel to stabilize the site. Cost of the work is estimated at $300,000, according to a building permit application, but may be a low number.
Expanding on the foundational design of its first four venues, Cosm Cleveland will include a 12K+ LED dome with a complementary hi-resolution wall-to-wall LED display, while still highlighting unique characteristics that reflect Cleveland’s vibrant community. The venue will be built and designed in partnership with Bedrock and multi-disciplinary architectural firm ROSSETTI.

Programming at Cosm Cleveland will reportedly include:
- A slate of live sports offerings featuring NCAA Football, NFL, UFC, NBA, MLB, WWE, NHL, Premier League (EPL) and international soccer, Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball, Tennis, Golf, and more; building on official partnerships with leagues and broadcasters including FOX Sports, ESPN, NBC Sports, TNT Sports, CBS Sports, Amazon, and more.
- Experiential cinema, expanding on the heels of Cosm unveiling the world’s first-ever cinematic presentation in Shared Reality of The Matrix, in partnership with Little Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.
- Immersive art experiences from members of the Cosm Studios Creator Program, including world-renowned photographer and filmmaker Bo Bridges and his surfing film Big Wave; filmmaker, director and co-founder of Planetary Collective Guy Reid; acclaimed composer and new media artist Ricardo Romaneiro; global artist and DJ Chris Holmes; award-winning new media artist Nancy Baker Cahill; and additional creators and studios to join the program in the future.
