Steampunk fans came together at Burton's Century Village Museum over the weekend for the annual Northeast Ohio Steampunk Festival.
The event, which ran Aug. 26-27, featured a combination of science fiction and history; outfits included old-fashioned outfits paired with futuristic goggles. Of course there was a costume contest, along with a mustache contest and "tea dueling" contest (in case you're wondering, it's a competition that involves dunking biscuits into hot tea).
The proceeds from the event supported the Century Village Museum, a historic Geauga County space that aims to preserve history and showcase past ways of life in Northeast Ohio. The organization was established on May 30, 1942 on an original 1838 home site.
