Vincent van Gogh: A New Way of Seeing
Perhaps one of the most well documented and discussed artists of all time, Vincent Van Gogh has become a fixture in history. But when it comes to the personal life of the Dutch post-impressionist, the details get glossed over. In this award-winning, 90-minute documentary directed by David Bickerstaff, viewers will jump into the life of Van Gogh through exclusive interviews with the curatorial team of Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum. Post Malone and 21 Savage
Hot off the release of his sophomore album, Beerbongs and Bentleys, this crooner brings his talent for heartbreak songs and party anthems to Cleveland. Known for his blend of hip hop, rock and R&B styles in his music, Post Malone will play music from his new album as well as his earlier hits such as “Congratulations,” “White Iverson,” “Psycho” and more. Pride in the CLE
Grab your best rainbow gear and head out to Pride in the CLE to celebrate the LGBTQ diversity in our city. Parties, fundraisers and more will happen all weekend, but the main event will storm Public Square Saturday – the parade. Jun Kaneko: Blurred Lines
Born in Nagoya, Japan in 1942, Jun Kaneko found his passion for ceramics when he moved to America where he studied under well-noted artists Peter Voulkos and Jerry Rothman. Now, his art that uses simple, geometric shapes such as spirals, dots, lines and more finds its way to the Akron Art Museum. Blurred Lines displays Kaneko’s work spanning several decades and will also feature his larger works – some standing seven feet tall and weighing thousands of pounds. Cleveland Bazaar
It’s not summer without a plethora of outdoor markets to go to – but you won’t want to miss this one. Originally started in Boston as the Bizarre Bazaar, this pop-up market place features local artists, small local businesses and even two of the most popular CLE breweries – Great Lakes Brewing Company and Market Garden Brewery. Starting in 2004, this is the longest running fair of its kind – and it has the variety to show it. Grab some freshly made tea from the Tea Guy or a new statement piece from Odyssey & Oddities, whatever you shop for, the mix of traditional and non-traditional vendors gives you plenty of options.
