Artist Gary Dumm and his wife, Laura, had to make some tough choices while creating Our Love Letter to Cleveland. The three-paneled, 61-by-8-foot mural wraps around Ohio City's Orange Blossom Press and includes 53 people and things that embody the city's history — trimmed from about 200 iconic figures the duo researched for the two-year project. So Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster got their own panel on the Creative Workforce Fellowship grant-funded mural. But Drew Carey received the buzz cut after his political criticism of Cleveland irked Gary. "My rejoinder will consistently be, 'Well, maybe on the next one,' " he says.
