Why He’s Interesting: The Strongsville fourth-grader is the creator of Brady’s K9 Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to providing bulletproof vests for police dogs. To date, Brady’s K9 Fund has received more than $150,000 in donations and helped vest 143 canines, with about 60 more currently on the waitlist.
Vested Interest: Snakovsky got the idea for his vest nonprofit while he was watching A&E’s Live PD. He learned that most local police departments can’t afford the necessary, but expensive equipment. Working with his mother, Leah, the duo set up a GoFundMe account and started spreading the word. They even got noticed by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which named Snakovsky its 2019 Kid of the Year. “They could have chosen anyone, but they chose me.”
Food Connoisseur: Snakovsky is known for his chocolate chip cookies. While on family vacation, he enjoys eating crab legs and lobster and can be found checking out the ice cream buffet. And while he likes math over all subjects, he has a special place in his heart for lunch period. “That’s the best class. I like the nacho grande.”
Human Encyclopedia: Snakovsky is full of interesting information, much more so than most kids his age. One of the many factoids rattling around his young mind involves the history of your favorite pair of pants. “You know on the jeans, like that tiny pocket that you can’t put anything in? That’s for a pocket watch.”
Field Notes: When he’s not playing video games (Fortnite is a fave), you can find Snakovsky playing baseball and flag football. He’s the leadoff batter for his team and prefers batting over fielding and is getting comfortable with the art of sliding. “I slide into third base here and there, but I get a mouthful of sand. In my eyes, too.”
Interesting Fact:
Snakovsky has two dogs, a goldendoodle named Leo and a Jack Russell-Yorkie mix named Julia.
