Best Thinly Veiled Reader Plug
I loved your Best Of issue this year. As a life-long Clevelander, I was aware of a lot of these spots, but it’s a great way for readers in the suburbs to rediscover Cleveland and for visitors to see what makes the city great. I think you should have a Best Bloody Mary award for Cleveland’s Hot D Wake-Up Juice — available in bars and retail stores throughout Northeast Ohio, including Great Lakes Brewing Co. and Mulberry’s. It’s just another example of Cleveland’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Editor’s Note: We let readers know about Hot D Wake-Up Juice (the brainchild of Clevelander Chris Pinta) in our January 2007 issue, and we still like the idea of an energy-infused hangover cure. We hereby crown Hot D the “best Bloody Mary mix made in Ohio City.”
Remembering Liam
I would like to commend Cleveland Magazine for publishing “Georgianna’s Choice” (June 2008). What a wonderful testament to love and a celebration of a precious life. Thank you for bringing to people’s attention organizations like Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and perinatal hospices that help families faced with a devastating prenatal diagnosis. May God bless the Garry family and their sweet angel, Liam.

Correction: In October’s Eton Fall Shopping Guide, we said Design Within Reach sells replicas of classic furniture. It actually sells “licensed classics,” authentic products made by companies that hold the licenses to the original furniture designs.
