Andradia Scovil, 26
Recruiting leader for Bizdom U Cleveland
The perfect date: Would involve food because I love to eat, whether we go out to eat or one of us of cooks. I love Italian food and seafood. Anyone who knows me knows sushi is ideal. I used to be scared of sushi four or five years ago but my friend got me hooked.
Something most people don't know about me: I like a lot of quiet because I'm always networking and busy. People call me a social butterfly, but I really enjoy curling up with a good book and having some "me" time in my socks.
My passion: I'm passionate about helping others; that's an easy one. I have two sisters, a younger sister and an older sister, and we look out for each other, and because of that environment in the home growing up, always caring for one another, we're really big on family. That kind of stuck with me even in the work I do now; it's all about helping people.
Biggest turn-on: I would say God-fearing, I am a Christian and I can't see myself with anyone who didn't believe in God ... and being six feet or taller doesn't hurt either. I like to wear high heels.
Biggest turnoff: Someone who is not humble because that means they are more then likely going to be overly arrogant and cocky.
I own too many: Shoes, but I don't think I can ever own too many shoes, but if it makes it any better I'm constantly giving stuff away. I have a sister who wears the same size.
My favorite ... place in Cleveland: Downtown Cleveland in general because of all the diversity: the restaurants, the bars, wine bars, theater district, there's everything, including sushi spots. There are three I hit up downtown that a lot of people don't know about. It's underutilized. People go to the suburbs when they could easily do everything they need to do downtown, maybe except grocery shop. ... book: Little Bee, it's a story of struggle and survival and the main character is from Africa and not to spoil the story but it's a story of overcoming your obstacles, overcoming life's obstacles. I like to read books that are empowering and that is a very empowering book. ... musician/band: I love to dance so I am constantly listening to Beyonce. ... sports team: Hands down, Cleveland Browns all day, every day. I love the Brownies. I am a huge football fan. People probably wouldn't like my basketball response and I'm not going to say because I'm a Kobe fan. But I do love the Cavs. ... TV show: I don't get to watch TV, I wouldn't say I have a favorite but when I do get to watch TV I love certain channels like Animal Planet, Travel Channel, Food Network of course, I'm a total dork so I like interesting stuff. ... vacation destination: Guanica, Puerto Rico, my mother's family is from the island, and when we went to visit the temperature is right, it's relaxing. You feel like you are on another plant it's so gorgeous. ... dessert: I would say probably strawberry cheesecake, New York style just drenched in strawberries. ... blog: I don't have one. Literally, I've never read a blog in my life. Not my cup of tea.
My usual hangout: Starbucks and also Erie Island Coffee company in the East Fourth alley. I love chai tea lattes it's what I get at both, but Erie is great because it's locally owned and I support locally owned businesses.
In high school I was ... voted best dancer and biggest flirt. I was in honors, and I did a program called High Tech Academy, so I was only in high school for about four hours a day, and then I took a bus out to Tri-C and went to college.
And now I'm ... more organized, still just as responsible, and my workload is heavier, and I miss dancing a lot.
My best feature: would probably be my eyes, but my friends and family would probably say my shape.
My bad habit: I leave things in my car. I probably have four pairs of shoes in my car right now. It's an SUV, so there's a lot of space.
My first kiss: In the coat room in sixth grade when I went to Cleveland School of the Arts
My guilty pleasure: I think it's the movie theater. I'm kind of addicted to movies. I go to movies by myself often. I go to Red Box every day, I have so many late fees.
How my ex would describe me: I read the article from last year and thought this was coming, so I actually texted him and asked him, and he said, "Andradia is caring, diligent, loyal, hardworking, beautiful and passionate. She doesn't give up and loves to win." And he probably said that because we played a lot of board games.
Going out or staying in: It depends on whether or not I'm by myself or with friends. If I go out, I would prefer to go out with my little sister who I call my twin. If it's just friends, then I prefer a relaxed atmosphere, and I would prefer to stay in.
Early, late or right on time: I'm never on schedule, but I'm always on time — that's from Nas the rapper but that describes me perfectly. My friends know to tell me to show up a half an hour before everybody else, and I'll still be late simply because I'm usually double-booked.
Dogs or cats: Dogs, I think cats are cute when they are kittens, but I hate them when they are cats! I'm a dog person, a big dog person at that! I grew up with a chihuahua, and she was the meanest thing ever.
Dancing ... yes or no?:Yes, abso-freaking-lutely
Twitter ... yes or no? I recently got a personal account, and it's not catching on. I probably won't have it for much longer.
My longest relationship: Was with my high school/college sweetheart. It lasted at least four years.
Beer, wine or martinis: Wine, I don't do beer because it gives you the love handles, and wine is good for your heart, so I might as well do something good for myself while I'm drinking. And it makes everything taste better.
Roses or chocolates: Roses because I'm not huge on chocolate. I don't like chocolate cake, ice cream or solid chocolate.
My No. 1 dating rule: Always be respectful, and that goes both ways. I'm really big on respect.
My deal-breaker: Somebody not being themselves. When I go out on a date with someone, I don't want to meet the nice date you; I want to meet the real you. If you are goofy, funny, like to eat a lot, don't hold back because I'm not going to.
I hate when a date ... ends awkwardly. The guy doesn't know what to do whether to hug you, walk you to the car, kiss you on the cheek. It's just awkward.
But I love when a date ... is filled with laughter. I love to laugh because that means you're having a good time, so if I'm laughing, it's a good date
Worst pickup line: Does a pickup action count? I once had a guy pull my hair, and I turned around to see what was going on, and he said "Oh I just wanted to see if it was real. By the way, what's your name?" And yes, it is real.
If I could date anyone: Someone who is ready to be in a relationship and who I feel God has designated for me because I don't want to waste time with someone I'm not supposed to be with.
On a first date I never ... stand anyone up. I wouldn't do that to anybody.
Best place to meet someone: Somewhere public for safety purposes. If I'm going on a date and I don't know that person all that well, I'll meet them there!
Most unusual place I've met someone: On the corner, because it sounds so horrible and like a bad joke, but that's where my ex asked me out for the first time.
My take on Cleveland's single scene: Depending on how you like to have fun, the Cleveland single scene varies. If you're single and you have a lot of girlfriends and you like to go bowling, you can probably meet people at Corner Alley. You get what you put into it. If you are actively trying not to be single, you are going to find people doing the same thing.
What I find sexy about myself: I would say my down-to-earthness, I guess. I grew up a tomboy, and to me that's sexy about me. Because of that, I love sports. I like to make jokes, and I'm not easily offended. I think that's a very unique quality.
Why I'm single: I'm single because the right guy hasn't found me. I'm not the type to ask guys out on dates. I'm old school; I prefer the gentlemen to ask me out.
