Allison Peltz, 30
social media strategist
The perfect date: Something that is not too scripted.
Something most people don't know about me: I did an awesomely bad routine to Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" in like second or third grade.
My passion: In the last two years, I've really tried to do new things, meet new people and see new things.
My favorite ... sports team: The Browns, because I judge my favorite teams based on how fun the social sport of it is. So tailgating and getting up early is super fun to me. I love it, so I love everything about the Browns games. ... musician/band: I like all kinds of music with the exception of country. ... TV show: I have been a die-hard Law & Order SVU fan for years. ... place in Cleveland: I live downtown, but one of my favorite neighborhoods as far as restaurants and shops is Tremont. Barrio's patio in the summertime is packed and always so much fun. ... book: I love Great Expectations. And then She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. ... vacation destination: My family and I went for five or six years to the Outer Banks. We rented this huge beach house that sleeps 20 people. I think there's nothing more fun than that. ... way to exercise: I'm obsessed with hot yoga right now. It's amazing. ... month of the year: October, because the weather's changing. Fall is my favorite time for clothes and fashion, and activities in general. ...website: I do love a good Rue La La or Gilt sale. It's definitely a daily activity. ... drink: I love dirty martinis, but I could easily love a good Christmas Ale right now. I'm an equal drink opportunist.
My usual hangout: Bier Markt, Nano Brew, Market Garden and then probably Flying Monkey and the Treehouse. It depends on the night. We'll kind of bar hop along.
In high school I was ... a slightly more energetic version of the current person [I am] now.
And now I am ... still energetic and slightly wiser.
My No. 1 dating rule: Just relax and go with it. ... Everything's an opportunity.
My deal-breaker: Smoking.
On a first date I never ... talk about past relationships, because it doesn't really matter.
Biggest turn-on: I know every girl always says humor, but seriously, if you're funny it makes everything that much better.
Biggest turnoff: If you're on your phone too much. But then I say that, and I'm always on my phone. But I would put it away if I was on a date.
My hidden talent: I don't think I have any.
I own too many: I do love a good pair of earrings or, like, 40.
My best feature: After almost three years of braces, I have really straight teeth.
My bad habit: I'm the worst hair twirler you will ever meet. I've tried to break this habit like no other. ... I think I literally have twirled my hair incessantly since I was 10 years old.
My first kiss: I don't even know who it would be. It was probably a boy in my neighborhood where I grew up. Clearly, it wasn't very memorable.
My guilty pleasure: I love any reality shows, but specifically I love Gossip Girl and the Housewives series on Bravo.
How my ex would describe me: He would probably say, "I wish her nothing but the best in anything that she does."
How my best friend would describe me: You never know what you're going to get, meaning it's always an adventure when we're all together.
Going out or staying in? Going out.
Early, late or right on time? I don't know what early is. I would literally be late to my own wedding.
Morning person or night owl: Night owl, for sure.
Dogs or cats: I like them both, but I should not own an animal at this stage of my life.
iPhone or Android: iPhone.
Dancing ... yes or no: I try to dance. I don't know what you'd think if you saw me dance. But let's be honest, anybody is a great dancer after a few cocktails.
Twitter ... yes or no: Hell, yeah. I've been on Twitter since it actually came out. I'm on it for work, too. ... I'm tweeting throughout the day, talking to my friends on there and then really taking in news and all things pop culture.
My longest relationship: Almost five years.
My biggest goal right now: I'm actually building out my travel calendar. I've never been to Europe. I've always wanted to go, and my girlfriends and I are actually planning a trip for London and France in September.
Celebrity crush: I have two. Everybody loves Ryan Gosling and his abs. I mean, come on. [And] I have such a crush on Andy Samberg from SNL and The Lonely Island. He is so freaking funny and cute. I always try to come up with ideas at work for how we could work with The Lonely Island, because I want to meet all three of those boys.
Most unusual place I've met someone: I really have no fun stories for that, although if you ask me in a few months I might have a better answer.
My take on Cleveland's single scene: It is what you make of it. So if you want to go out and meet people — guys and girls — you definitely can. I just think it's sometimes easier for people to be naysayers than to be positive about it. ... Although I do wish we had more fun single things that were going on. I don't know who would organize that. Maybe I should organize it.
What do you find sexy about yourself? I don't even know. That's such an embarrassing question.
Why do you think you're single? Why not?
