Everybody loves a winner, particularly when everyone's along for the ride. That's why craps, blackjack and roulette — the three most popular table games at the Horseshoe — produce the most excitement, fun and social interaction.
On a Roll: "Craps is a game of camaraderie," says Tosha Tousant, the casino's director of table games. "The majority of the customers bet on the pass line, where they are wagering on the shooter's luck factor. They are betting on a shooter's streaks, and we see those every day." A shooter who is still rolling after 20 or 30 minutes becomes very popular.
Hit Me: Blackjack offers good odds and is easy to learn, which makes it appealing to experienced players and neophytes alike. "It's a more intimate setting than craps, and there is always a nice atmosphere at a blackjack table," Tousant says. "Some players will watch how the others play and comment on what decisions they make. Hindsight is always 20-20 in blackjack."
Numbers Game: Roulette is the most random of all table games, but also carries that promise of huge payouts in a short amount of time. That means it offers an ideal opportunity to people watch. Horseshoe dealer Lori Longo says the game's allure is its simplicity. "You're playing numbers, betting on colors and playing rows of numbers. It doesn't intimidate people."
