You might assume that the best place to watch Progressive Field’s Friday-night fireworks is inside the stadium. But after Friday games last year, when the ushers cleared us out of the bleachers and away from the launching area, we escaped the crowded aisles and found comfortable spots outside —in the grassy plaza between the left-field gate and The Q. It’s actually a great vantage point if you pick your spot right. Look up at the stadium lights above the left-field bleachers and grab a patch of ground that lines up with them exactly. You’ll get a clear view of all the fireworks launched from the parking structure and most of those shot off from the field.
