memory lane
"I remember as a little girl getting all dressed up. I mean I'm talking little plaid coats with velvet collars and gloves to get on the Rapid to go down at Christmastime to see Mr. Jingeling at Halle's. You would have Welsh rarebit in the Halle tea room. It was just like a fairyland. Everything was beautiful — doormen, elevator men, top hats. It was just something. The staff couldn't do enough for you. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, downtown was sparkling. It was just so alive."
