Luna Park
The 35-acre site, known as "Cleveland's fairyland of pleasure" opened in 1905 and catered to European immigrants and their descendants with rides, beer gardens and attractions such as the Burlesque Bull Fight.
Puritas Spring Park
Known for its Romanesque carousel and skating rink, the park opened in 1901. In 1928, it added the 80 mph Cyclone coaster, which claimed four serious injuries and one death over 11 years.
Wade Park Zoo
In 1882, Jeptha Wade I donated 70-plus acres from his University Circle estate along with 14 deer to open this zoo. It featured 100 pigeons, two vultures, two black bears, elk, a pair of lions and a tiger named Miss Columbus.
White City Park
Inspired by Dreamland at Coney Island, Edward C. Boyce built White City Park on the site of the short-lived Manhattan Beach Park in 1905. The Shoot-the-Chutes boats were named for areas such as Collinwood.
