Emily Keener spun all four judges right round with her blind audition on The Voice Season 10 last year. After singing her way to the top 12 with coach Pharrell Williams, the 19-year-old Wakeman native says the show was an experience she won’t forget. She is still turning heads with her soulful sound and vocal acrobatics. Keener is working on her fourth album, which is expected to be released late next year. Expect her signature matter-of-fact tone and lyrics the celebrity judges of The Voice fought over. In the meantime, she’ll be upping her moxie on local stages, including a Jan. 5 appearance at Mahall’s 20 Lanes in Lakewood with Joshua Powell and the Great Train Robbery. “The music community in Cleveland gave me a sense of confidence that has allowed me to learn more than if I was in a highly competitive environment,” Keener says.
