North Ridgeville’s new police station reinforces the city’s dedication to the safety of all who live, work and visit. In late December/early January, the city is scheduled to celebrate the completion of the new $12 million, 21,408-square-foot facility.
In November 2021, voters passed a 0.81-mill bond issue to generate funding for construction of the facility, which is being designed by Architectural Vision Group of Westlake.
“Our current station has an original section that’s more than 40 years old,” says North Ridgeville Police Chief Michael Freeman. “Obviously, technology and police work have changed through time. The new station will take care of our needs moving forward.”
A key feature Freeman knows will be much appreciated by visitors is the station’s spacious lobby that will give all who enter a bit more space and privacy.
A separate evidence building will contain an evidence locker, a dog kennel to house lost canines and space for patrol cars.
