Fido and Fifi's Wedding

More than 300 animal lovers celebrated the marriage of Bella, a golden retriever, and Little Guy, a Lhasa Apso, at Fido and Fifi’s Wedding at the Akron Hilton. FOX 8 meteorologist Dick Goddard emceed the event and also stood in as the groom’s best man while Richard Farkas, executive director of the Humane Society of Greater Akron, officiated the union.

Larry Alltop, a wedding singer, entertained as the crowd dined on steak portobello and Tuscan chicken with garlic-whipped mashed potatoes and chef’s fresh garden vegetables.

Guests bid on prizes such as a diamond pendant and a pair of diamond earrings.

The event raised more than $150,000 for the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
