If you’re sick of gluing on false lashes or scrubbing all your mascara off at the end of day, lash extensions may be the solution for you.
Kaetlin Bradford, a licensed esthetician, aesthetic nurse and owner of Blush Beauty Bar in Lakewood, has been doing lash extensions since 2017. While Blush offers many services, lash extensions are a popular, noninvasive choice to bolster your confidence and self-esteem.
Bradford walks us through the basics of what the process looks like.
Set aside some time. Your first appointment can take up to two hours, so come in fresh-faced and dressed comfortably. “Your initial session, your full set, that’s going to be kind of like your investment piece,” says Bradford. The fill appointments are shorter, lasting 45 minutes to an hour. The nice thing about lash extensions is that you can pick a natural or bolder look.
It’s a commitment. At Blush, full sets range from $150-$200. The process involves attaching a synthetic lash made of high-quality plastic to every natural lash. Once attached, they are lightweight and not noticeable to the wearer. Lash fills, which cost $50-$75, are scheduled every two to three weeks. “So, it is a little bit of a commitment, but it does make your mornings very easy,” says Bradford. “You can get up and go, so that’s kind of the trade off.”
You’ll notice a difference. Bradford sees lash extensions as a type of self-care and a confidence boost in her clients. “If you talk to any of my clients who decide to take a break, they’re back within weeks,” she says. “They’re like, ‘No, I need this.’ So I think lash extensions will stand the test of time.”
