Renee and others create and sell sustainable accessories such as handbags woven from old magazines and arm-warmers made from retired sweaters and decorated with Cleveland and Tremont "tattoos." "My company is based on giving back," says Renee, who partners with local nonprofits such as United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland and stocks fair-trade items from organizations such as Comfort Africa, which supports children affected by HIV/AIDS.
