Stepping inside Chagrin Falls’ La Look Skincare and Makeup Boutique means entering a pink-striped vision of Alice’s Wonderland, with inspirational quotes lacquered to the walls in pink script and reclaimed (pink) painted tables full of creams and candles. Although the spa offers specialized medical facial services from a University Hospitals-affiliated plastic surgeon, it’s miles away from a doctor’s office. “It’s a very girly, shabby-chic, fun environment, where it’s very relaxed,” says owner and creative director Martha Vucsko, a 25-year industry veteran. “It’s not a medical setting at all.” While the decor recalls a childhood classic, most of the clientele fall into the 35-and-older demographic, with extensive anti-aging treatments among the space’s most popular. Feel forever young from a fractional collagen induction therapy ($300 and up) that uses microneedling to minimize pore size and tighten skin. For a less intense treatment, try the cupping facial ($163) to improve circulation or an opulent diamond peel ($162). Check the menu frequently for new offerings — Vucsko spends her free time researching the latest spa trends and is currently introducing two new Australian treatments. “It’s so rewarding, because we literally see people change in front of our eyes,” she says. 15 Pleasant Drive, Chagrin Falls, 440-247-0359, lalookboutique.com
Try this: Skip the post-facial breakout with a 3-in-1 superfacial ($275), a suction-free microdermabrasion that exfoliates and oxygenizes with no downtime afterward. “If you have an event that day, you can do this right beforehand and your skin’s going to look amazing,” Vucsko says.
