Checking out of our busy lives can be hard to do, but the second-floor location of Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa at Legacy Village makes that first step toward comfort easier by creating an escape plan in the busiest of shopping centers. “We do a sensory journey before your service to wind you down,” says spa team leader Nicole Mannarino. Past a full-service hair and makeup salon, a seating area for six with plush white sofas surrounds a built-in fireplace, while an aroma of bergamot, eucalyptus and lavender calm the senses prior to your appointment. Then, like in its sister location in Mentor, each guest is led to a private candlelit room decorated with soothing earth tones for a variety of treatments such as a 60- or 90-minute Stress Fix Massage ($90 or $125), which uses organic French lavender, lavandin and clary sage oils combined with a Swedish and deep-tissue massage and reflexology, or the 60- or 90-minute Rosemary Mint Body Treatment ($100 or $145), a dry body exfoliation with a body, foot and scalp massage on a heated water bed. Each visit even kicks off with a complimentary scalp, hand and arm massage. Facials wrap up with makeup touch-ups: “We kind of put you back together too,” jokes Mannarino. 25377 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst; 8800 Mentor Ave., Mentor, 440-255-5572, ladiesgentlemen.com
Try this: The Chakra Balancing Massage ($90 or $145) offers a new-age twist to a deep tissue neck, shoulders, face and back massage with foot and hand reflexology and a 20-minute guided energy exercise focusing on the body’s seven chakras along the spine.
