Get Shorty at Playhouse
It’s not too cold outside to choose these shorts. The Cleveland International Film Festival presents Get Shorty. Attendees will watch a handful of shorts and then have the opportunity to decide what short films will be showcased at the CIFF 43rd showing in March. Sweetheart Showcase
In the Waterloo Arts District the Beachland Ballroom is having its ninth annual Sweetheart Showcase, a Tribute to Broadway. This event features all the things that make the perfect burlesque performance you know and love. The show will also include songs from Little Shop of Horrors, Hamilton, Lion King, Get On Your Feet and more. Here Come The Mummies
The eight-piece funk-rock band of 5,000-year-old Egyptian mummies are making crowds feel more than alive. Best known for its live performances at events such as Voodoo Fest and Musikfest, the group brings songs from its most recent album A Blessing And A Curse and one of its first albums Terrifying Funk Beyond the Grave. The group has been supported by many artists in the industry such as American singer Al Green and P-funk American funk artists and more. $25-$35. Women In Science Day
Join WKYC's first female chief meteorologist Betsy Kling and other female science professionals as they discuss the difficulties and opportunities women face today in science fields. Start off the morning with a meet-and-greet from students to professionals and then a special planetarium show in the afternoon. After that a panel discussion led by Betsy Kling will follow with insight to how others are following their passions in science. $14-$17.
