Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week
For the last 14 years, Downtown Cleveland Alliance has dedicated a week for Clevelanders to support their local dining spots, specifically in the downtown area. This year is more important than ever, with more than 10 downtown restaurants participating including Cassa Kitchen, Blue Point Grille, Barley House and more. Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival: Leo’s Legacy
The Greater Cleveland Urban Film Foundation aims to amplify, promote and preserve African American arts and cinema in the Cleveland area. Through the end of February, the organization will stream various films, documentaries and talks with different thinkers around Cleveland. This weekend, watch the documentary Leo’s Legacy, which tells the story of the local multicultural venue, Leo’s Casino which was a jumping off point for many well-known Black Motown entertainers throughout the ’60s and ’70s. Rob Ward at Pickwick and Frolic
Cleveland native Rob Ward has been practicing comedy since 2010. He’s done more than enough since then, including appearances on the CW and Kevin Heart’s Hart Of The City on Comedy Central. Now, the comic known for his relatable jokes and commentary is releasing his first comedy album, Parental Advisory and is “The Firefighters Tour,” which helps support firefighters, EMS workers and first responders. Savory Taṇhā Performance at Cleveland Public Theatre
Starting this Wednesday, Cleveland Public Theatre launches a special virtual performance, Savory Taṇhā that consists of 16 plays in one. Composed of six members from the theater’s ensemble, each performance night features the same play with the actors taking on different roles. The series of short plays, written by David Hansen and produced by CPT’s artistic director Raymond Bobgan, makes up a 60-minute show that explores themes of loss, longing and human desire. Tough Cookies Episode Featuring Sly & The Family Stone
Tune in for a special episode of the weekly music podcast, Tough Cookies, hosted by Adam Weiner, the leader of the Philadelphia-based band, Low Cut Connie. During this episode Weiner chats with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Jerry Martini, Greg Errico and Larry Graham, as well as Freddie Stone and Rose Stone of Sly & the Family Stone, the band that helped revolutionize funk, soul and rock between the ’60s and ’80s.
