Imagine Otherwise Exhibit at The Museum of Contemporary Art
Organized by MOCA’s first on-staff Black curator, La Tanya S. Autry, the recently opened Imagine Otherwise exhibit explores topics of Blackness through various sculptural, mixed media and video installations. The exhibit, which is on display through the beginning of the summer, features work from four different Cleveland artists including Antwoine Washington’s use of multimedia storytelling in his piece, And Yeah, About that Seat at the Table (2021), Amber N. Live Music Saturday at The Lot: Luke Pernici
After hosting various different local artists and bands since last spring, the lot behind Platform Beer Co. will be alive with music again this weekend with a performance by Luke Pernici. The local musician and guitarist is known for playing for a variety of bands around Cleveland including ET King and the Determination, Liz Bullock and the Tremonts, GROUP and others. Modern Kicks Comedy at The Winchester
Hosted by local comics Jimmy Graham and Joe Briggs, Modern Kicks Comedy has been bringing a series of stand-up shows to the Winchester since last fall as a way to shine a light on some of Cleveland’s best underground comedians. This weekend, The Winchester will have 10 different comics performing including Mary Santora, John Armstrong, Carly Robe, Brett Thomas and others. Motogo Cleveland Third Annual Benefit
Cleveland-based organization, Motogo is committed to offering in-school and out-of-school curriculums that teaches young people how to fix and repair motorcycles as a way to pique interest in STEM subjects. This week Motogo is hosting its third annual “Bringin’ Back Shop Class” Benefit virtually through its website, YouTube and Facebook page. While the event already kicked off on Monday, you can still tune in for a performance by Lil’Stem and The Valve Keepers this Friday along with a drawing for raffle winners on Saturday. Stephanie Jones In Concert via Cleveland Guitar Society The Cleveland Guitar Society’s International Series consists of monthly virtual concerts featuring guitarists from different countries and backgrounds. Since the launch of its series, the organization has digitally hosted musicians from Italy, France, Cuba and more. This weekend, be sure to catch the performance by Stephanie Jones, an Australian guitarist known for her classical sound. She has released multiple albums, including Colours of Spain in 2015 and Bach, the Fly, and the Microphone in 2009. This event is free, but donations are accepted.
