March for Science
Scientists are back to march again this year, and they are switching out their white coats for signs championing the importance of science and education in our local and global communities. The 2018 March for Science will take place April 15 in Public Square, one day after the internationally celebrated march due to permit restrictions. Speakers will present between 11 a.m. and noon. Last year's march drew thousands of supporters at events throughout the country, stressing the importance of science-based research and fact-based reporting in a world of alternative facts. March coordinators have created a survey for this year's participants to voice their science policy concerns, which organizers plan to share with government officials after the march. Free.
