Cain Park Arts Festival
Artists from across the country will land in Cleveland Heights this weekend for a juried fine arts and fine crafts festival. Pekar Park Comic Book Fest
Comic book lovers won’t want to miss the fourth annual Pekar Park Comic Book Fest. Honoring Cleveland’s most iconic comic book writers, the festival will spotlight local independent writers and illustrators. Artists Terri Libenson, Kate Atherton, Jed Collins, Clare Kolat and more will join the party for various panel discussions at the Heights Libraries Coventry Branch, and a special screening of American Splendor will be shown at the end of the day. Cleveland Opera Summer Concert
Newcomers to opera can dip their feet in the musical experience with Cleveland Opera Theater’s free show at the summer at the Albanian Culture Garden. Churning out operatic favorites, the collective will celebrate Albanian heritage and culture for families and friends in attendance. Derek Brennan: Interwoven Memories
Local artist and Bowling Green State University alum Derek Brennan is bringing his exhibit Interwoven Memories to the BayArts Gallery. With every piece created on wooden panels, Brennan attempts to find an understanding within the memories we have that are distorted by imagination, emotions and time and bring them to life. Kent Blues Fest
Folks in downtown Kent will shake under the weight of the bluesy vibrations coming from Kent Blues Fest, the town’s annual celebration of the music that made B.B. King, Robert Johnson and Eric Clapton famous. With over 20 venues hosting free live music throughout the city, stop by Acorn Plaza or Taco Tanto’s for a quick bite before you enjoy the shows.
