See nature from a new perspective at Holden Arboretum’s Canopy Walk and Emergent Tower. Study 18 species of trees while trekking across suspension bridges 60 feet above the forest floor. If that isn’t high enough, arboretum visitors can test their inner daredevil by climbing 202 steps to reach the 120-foot Emergent Tower. “Some people just come to show they’ve done it [and] to conquer fears,” says Brian Parsons, director of planning and special projects. At the top, 20 feet above the treetops, climbers can snap pictures of sights such as Lake Erie sunsets during summer extended hours, migrating monarch butterflies and birds, and a diversity of forest life. “Every time I go up I see something new and different,” says Parsons. 9550 Sperry Road, Kirtland, 440-946-4400, holdenarb.org
