If you’ve never been lucky enough to score a ticket to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, the new The Power of Rock film turns the dial up one better: It gives you a front-row seat to some of the most legendary moments of rock ‘n’ roll history. Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme’s 12-minute film packs in 30-plus years of inductions with memories from Prince honoring George Harrison with “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” to Chuck Berry playing “Johnny B. Goode.” The film debuts July 1 inside the Rock Hall’s new $9 million, 3,000-square-foot Connor Theater, where guests can walk by a 27-foot screen showing clips of more than 50 inductees before entering the 130-seat facility as sound check and stage banter from induction audio plays. The theater also boasts immersive sound including subwoofers that add vibrations and five 12-foot-tall screens that move together to surround the audience in 180 degrees of video and stage lighting. “The production keys on the emotions of rock ’n’ roll — love, heartbreak, freedom, excitement,” says president and CEO Greg Harris. 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd., Cleveland, 216-781-7625, rockhall.com
