It’s all about the river at The Foxburg Inn, in Foxburg, Pa. Step to the window in any of the 24 guest rooms and you’ll encounter stunning views of the calm, placid Allegheny. The understated décor, with duvets in autumn tones, oak and cherry headboards and simple wrought iron lamps, allows the view to be the focus. What to do in this borough, population 268? There are surprises aplenty lined up on Main Street across from the inn: The Red Brick (a shop showcasing regional artists), Foxburg Wine Cellars and, on the second floor of The Foxburg Free Library, the recently renovated Lincoln Hall. It’s a superb performance venue with a Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ at the back and a tiger mahogany Steinway onstage.
