Peter Knab is happiest when he's on the ice. Born with cerebral palsy, Knab plays a Paralympic sport called sled hockey. It's just like regular ice hockey, only players propel themselves around on sleds with sticks that have teeth on the opposite end to aid in maneuvering. "It's just a great confidence builder," Knab says. "It's great for physical activity." Knab has played sled hockey for eight years and last winter acted as ambassador for the sport at Benedictine High School, where he'll be a sophomore this year. Knab challenged the varsity hockey squad to a game of sled hockey against his Cleveland Mighty Barons team to raise money for a trip to the Disabled Hockey Festival in Texas. Knab's team won 8-1 and the event raised $750 for the trip. "[The Benedictine team] got in sleds for the first time, which was pretty comical to watch," says Knab.
