With a redesigned food truck trailer, Cocky’s Bagels is expanding its reach as a Cleveland staple by making The Yard on 3rd their home for the summer.
Cocky’s will offer signature bagel sandwiches like the Wake N’ Bacon and Philly along with Buffalo Chicken Dip with Bagel Chips and more Tuesday through Sunday from open until 4 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the popular East Side space beginning this May.
The Yard on 3rd opened June 2022 and took Downtown Willoughby by storm. The restaurant's daily rotation of local food trucks, along with live music, a bright patio with truck bed seating, shareable cocktails and a family and dog-friendly daytime scene garnered lines down the street last summer.
The Yard believes Cocky’s will be the perfect addition as they remain committed to building up local business owners alongside their own success.
“Cocky’s Bagels reputation extends far past the West Side of Cleveland,” Anna Dey, co-owner of The Yard, said in a news release. “We believe the Downtown Willoughby community will be ecstatic about this union. We are fortunate to partner with such a great concept and family, just as we have been fortunate to partner with each of our locally owned food trucks, and 65+ year family-owned business, Geraci’s Slice Shop.”
Northeast Ohio natives Keene Cockburn and Natalie Bata opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in North Olmsted in 2019 and a second Cleveland location in East Bank of the Flats in 2022. Their daily truck at The Yard connects Cocky’s back to its roots as a late night food truck.
“Once The Yard on 3rd reached out, we knew it would be the perfect home for the original Cocky’s food trailer that helped us start this brand,” Bata said the release. “We are so excited to finally be able to serve all our east side friends and look forward to meeting so many new people!”
In addition to bagels and rotating food trucks all day long, The Yard is also undergoing bathroom renovations and plans to host a grand re-opening this April.
