Tremont’s Halloween just wouldn’t be complete without the playfully grim and ghoulish works of beloved local artists on display.
This month, Buildings and Food is renewing its Artist-in-Residence program featuring a familiar face; our November of 2022 cover star Jessica Sheeran of Cool Critters.
From Friday, Oct. 13 to the end of the month, Prosperity Social Club’s patio will be infested with one-of-a-kind installations that resemble the frightening arachnids of everyone’s childhood nightmares — this time a litter tamer.
“Weaving webs at Prosperity Social Club was a dream project. I love all things creepy, crawly, spooky and furry, so I jumped at the chance to create an immersive environment for these one-of-a-kind arachnid friends of mine at a place everyone in Cleveland knows and loves. When I moved here five years ago, Prosperity Social Club was the first restaurant my friends took me to, and I’ll never forget that. It’s a Cleveland institution and now I’ll be inviting all of my closest friends to come and see the magic,” says Sheeran in a recent news statement.

Don’t be afraid to snag a photo, as Prosperity shines a light on one of Cleveland’s favorite artists, it encourages guests to take snapshots of the spooky spiders and share the artwork with friends on socials.
“A big part of the Buildings and Food mission is to support our community — our new Artist-in-Residence program is one of my favorite ways to do that. We were particularly excited to commission one of my favorite artists in Cleveland, Jessica Sheeran of Cool Critters, to transform the Prosperity patio. She outdid herself and we’re so proud to have her installment at one of our establishments,” says Creative Director for Buildings and Food Heidi Rolf in a news statement.
“Whether you’re looking to take some evocative Halloween photos, or want to take your kids to a spooky experience that won’t give them nightmares — Jessican Sheeran’s spider-themed Cool Critter installment on the patio of Prosperity Social Club is the place to be this fall.”

In addition to the art on display, Prosperity is also featuring its new fall menu with seasonal items like a new BBQ pulled pork sandwich, The Three Pig Cassoulet, and the return of Prosperity’s famous Shepherd’s Pie. For drinks, the social club is bringing back its iconic Maple Ginger Old-Fashioned, made with bourbon, ginger liqueur, maple syrup and orange bitters, as well as its the Apple Cider Margarita that consists of reposado tequila, apple cider, agave nectar, lime and a cinnamon-sugar rim.
