Everything today has a pop-up version: shops, restaurants, galleries. But what about a pop-up wedding? A partnership through the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Haus of Cool makes this a reality. These pop-up weddings feature a 45-minute ceremony in the park and can accommodate up to 30 guests, seated 6 feet apart. Here’s what you need to know if you’re looking for a unique big day.
You can choose your spot. The two locations within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park where these weddings are held have vastly different aesthetics. Hines Hill has a stone cottage and a barn. “[There’s] a little pond [that] makes a big splash,” says Haus of Cool founder Kattie Cool. “If you had to think of a perfect summer vacation home, Hines Hill would be what you want.” Happy Days Lodge features an old cabin with dark, exposed beams. A three-seasons room has cobblestone floors and shutters that open the space to the outdoors.
It's an affordable option. This pop-up experience, which costs $2,500 plus tax, includes a wedding cake, Champagne to-go, photography, wedding invites, the officiant and more. “The use of the venue, all the professional planning, logistics, professional design, fresh floral and decor are included,” says Cool. Additional add-ons are available for an extra cost.
You can add personal touches. Since the big day is meant to be memorable, Cool says there are plenty of ways couples can make it feel special and unique to them. Couples can pick wedding cake flavors and customize the invites, while Cool also has couples work directly with the officiant on personal details. “I always tell our couples if you want to have a flower man or your grandma wants to be the flower girl, let’s do it,” Cool says.
