It’s all about the finishing touches. James and Darlene Justice, the owners of home design center Architectural Justice, created Fittings in 2018 to help homeowners add some glamour to their spaces. The artisan-made line of metal accents, which features shelving, decorative end caps, ornamental vanity bases and other accessories, can be used throughout your home to dress up furniture and cabinets. “We just saw a really large hole in what was out there available to kitchens and designers,” says James. Here’s three things to know about this sleek new collection.
It’s Timeless
Whether it be your bathroom, bedroom or kitchen, the classic steel design of these pieces blend well with modern or traditional interiors. For example, add a simple shelf to a kitchen island for extra stylish storage or a geometric accent on the edge of an existing shelf or dresser. “We really feel like when you mix materials, like in a kitchen with wood cabinets, it just creates such a different world,” says James. “You’re going to have a very unique kitchen with a metal additive, and not your typical wood everywhere.”
It’s Trendy
The eight vintage finishes in the collection weren’t selected lightly. While you can definitely go with standard colors like white, matte black and nickel for something basic like a living room shelf accent, there’s also a trendy Aegean teal, cobalt blue and Urbane Bronze, Sherwin-Williams’ 2021 Color of The Year. Those colors are great for when you want to add some personality to something like a vanity base in the bedroom. “We’re really trying to stay in tune with the current trends with our colors and finishes,” says James.
It’s Perfectly Imperfect
While these accessories are expertly crafted to fit with a range of styles, the character of each item shines through the up-close details. Since each piece is handcrafted under high temperatures in the mill, the material is formed in a way that leaves slight scale marks behind, which serve as a reminder that each item is artisan-made and one-of-a-kind. “It’s hot rolled right out of the foundry, so there’s a little bit of these forging marks and pit marks,” says James. “It just gives it a little more unique texture.”
