JULY 2014: The 21-story former headquarters of East Ohio Gas, built in 1959, will be renamed the Residences at 1717 (after its address on East Ninth Street) and converted into 223 one- to two-bedroom apartments.
Fall 2014: The former bank tower will become downtown's tallest residential high-rise, with apartments on floors 14 to 28 and a Marriott brand hotel on the lower floors.
Fall 2014: The other apartment building in the Ameritrust development, the historic Swetland will include a rooftop sun deck, and affordable housing for service workers employed at the complex.
Late 2014: The terra-cotta, Victorian-style brick building will be home to 55 luxury apartments and a 122-room Kimpton hotel with ground-level retail space and a restaurant.
Late 2014: A nearly $2 million historic preservation tax credit is transforming part of the Park Building and the adjacent Southworth Building into 34 apartments.
