In a crushing 20-16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, the Cleveland Browns' performance raises serious concerns once again about the team's direction this season. Offensive struggles, serious injuries and porousness on both sides of the ball left fans with a sense of deja vu.
Here are our three takeaways from the Sept. 29 matchup:
Takeaway One: The Browns faltered yet again.
This loss felt like a regression, with the team failing to capitalize against a severely depleted Raiders squad. "The Raiders were inviting the Browns to win," says Manoloff. "And what did the Browns do? They lose — again. They do what losing teams
do: lose."
Takeaway Two: Offense continues to struggle.
Despite an early touchdown on a scripted drive, the Browns' offense went scoreless for much of the game. "The Kevin Stefanski-Deshaun Watson marriage just isn't working for whatever
reason," says Manoloff.
Takeaway Three: Cleveland’s high hopes dimming.
A team that entered the season with excitement now sits at a disappointing 1-3, leaving fans frustrated. "Only in Cleveland is this team, with all of the excitement in the
offseason coming into this year, one and three," says Manoloff. "One and freaking three."
