After Tori Tedesco’s grandma passed away, she inherited the woven, Amish rag rugs decorating the floors of her grandmother’s farmhouse. Inspired by their free-form design, the Little Birdie Design Studio owner grabbed her knitting needles and created the idea for the Rug Scarf ($130). “I actually knit each one differently; there’s no set pattern to how I change the colors throughout,” she says. “It makes each one unique.” Knitted from lamb’s wool and acrylic yarn over several weeks, each fringed scarf can be wrapped around the neck or draped over shoulders. In denim (a deep blue), fisherman (a soft beige) and pumpkin, the colors are the perfect earthy combo for the cold. “It’s soft, cozy and easy to wear,” says Tedesco. “You can pair it with jeans, you can layer it with a sweater or use it as your jacket.” 330-922-1455, littlebirdiedesignstudio.com
