With the enormous to-do list that comes with planning a wedding, gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen might be the last thing on your mind. Jennifer Krysiak and Katie Burns of Give Gifted, a company that takes the guesswork out of things by curating
locally made gifts for weddings and special events, shared some tips on how to make each one unforgettable.
Keep It Simple
Sometimes it’s best to make things easy on yourself. Get everyone in the bridal party the same gift, but customize it by adding a handwritten note (consider hiring a calligrapher to write it) or photo of you and the bridal party member. “We tend to find that when we talk to brides, they’re so overwhelmed with other checklist items that keeping gifts similar helps reduce stress levels,” says Burns. “So keep the anchor of the gift the same and then personalize it.”
Edible Gifts Go Far
Everyone loves getting a treat or libation. Cookies or macarons personalized with names or the wedding hashtag are good options for bridesmaids, while beer from a local brewery and a personalized beer mug can be a good choice for the groomsmen. “We do a lot of guy gifts that have their favorite local breweries,” says Krysiak. “Have a custom mug for them and a six pack or a few beers that are their favorite.”
Personalize Accessories
Accessories to wear on the big day make memorable gifts that the bridal party can use later too. Try tie clips or cuff links personalized with names or initials for the groomsmen. For the bridesmaids, consider similar jewelry tailored to each person. “We had one bride who wanted earrings that all went together but were specific to her bridesmaids’ personalities,” says Krysiak. “They were all a little different.”
