Handcrafted Shopping Guide: Tori Simonds Art

It’s all about sparking joy for Tori Simonds. Inspired by Marie Kondo’s philosophy of filling your space with items you love, the local artist parlays that belief into her intricate Cara Custom wall hanging ($181). The original design came from a project Simonds worked on for a homeowner who wanted a large, layered piece with shades of gray and black. You can choose from an array of colors and Simonds will tie, knot and hand-dye about 600 pieces of 100% cotton rope to create the striking, original piece in about two weeks. “I really just start tying knots, playing with the rope,” Simonds says of the textural masterpiece. “And every time I come up with something new, it turns out completely different than what I originally planned.” torisimondsart.com
