When you first arrive, talk with a planner, Krause advises. Bring your list of ideas, and find out what a professional can offer to help narrow your vision according to your needs. "Many brides have grand ideas but a small budget. That doesn't mean they can't still have the wedding of their dreams, it just takes a little creative input from an expert," she says.
This will also be a good opportunity to find a planner that clicks with you, if you decide to enlist the help of one. Walk around together, see the layout, find vendors who fit your style and discuss your ideas as you go. "Be on the lookout for a good listener who connects with you," suggests Krause.
The show also provides an opportunity to sample menu items and wedding cake — and to actually see what the presentation could look like. Plus, the show's intimate, relaxed size and atmosphere lends itself to conversation, reflection and direction.

Flowers Your bouquet and centerpieces can be elaborate or simple; just use your imagination. Some incorporate Swarovski crystals, while others just include humble herbs and wildflowers.
Color The bridal party is being seen in pastels again, and there is also a return to coral and metallic. If the ladies wear black, white or gray, think about using a pop of color with accents such as bright lipstick and colorful jewelry.
