Black History Month Tours at Cleveland Museum of Art
Every Sunday and Wednesday in February, the Cleveland Museum of Art will offer free, guided tours to highlight artwork created by Black artists in their collection. Back In The Dayz Exhibit at the Ann and Norman Roulet Student & Alumni Gallery
The Cleveland Institute of Art’s Black Scholars and Artists students (BSA) will host its third annual Black History Month exhibit Back In The Dayz. The exhibition will showcase a series of artwork that explores the theme of nostalgia through the lens of Black personhood. Blax Museum Performance
Black artists from all across Northeast Ohio come together for the annual Blax Museum performance showcase to honor notable Black figures in American history. Pathways to Freedom: Stories of Strength and Legacy at Hale Farm & Village
The Western Reserve Historical Society will honor the legacies of Sara Lucy Bagby – the last known person to be enslaved under the Fugitive Slave Law after seeking freedom in Cleveland – and Eliza Bryant – an African-American woman who established a home for elderly Black women in Cleveland. Third Annual Black Business Expo at Tinkham University Center
Discover and support Black-owned businesses in Greater Cleveland at Case Western Reserve University’s African American Association’s third annual Black business expo. In celebration of renowned writer and Lorain Native Toni Morrison, Cleveland’s literary community gathers to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the greatest writers of our time. Showin’ Up Black at Cleveland Public Theatre
Showin’ Up Black tells the story of the Hopegoodes, an affluent African American family in Cleveland, preparing to attend a debutante ball. But plans change when they unexpectedly clash with a Black Lives Matter protest, challenging their values and turning their world upside down. The show will take place from Feb. 20 through March 8. Homeschool Field Trip Day: Black History Month Edition at Cleveland History Center

Cozad-Bates House
The Cozad-Bates House is the only home from the Civil War era that remains in University Circle. The pre-Civil War era home is now an interpretive center with a variety of exhibits that highlights the history of slavery and local freedom seekers.
